  • We use modern technology, mixed with vintage and Old Hollywood methods to produce something unique. Photos that look like they really are from a classic, filmic era.

  • We’ll look after you end-to-end throughout the process, starting off with an ideas consultation to identify the best style shoot for your needs, then optional hair and make-up, followed by a fun and authentic photo session. Following the session you’ll be presented with photo options for order.

  • Some of the characteristics of Old Hollywood include high contrast black & white, crisp, striking shadows, a softness or glow to the edges, hair, makeup and wardrobe choices that match the era. Then, a filmic grain with milky blacks and soft whites .

  • For men, a well-fitting crisp suit works wonders. A trenchcoat can also be used for film noir style shoots. For women, it can vary but a glamorous dress or a cute pin-up dress works well. It is vintage inspired, but doesn’t necessarily have to include vintage clothing.

  • Black and white photos have some distinct advantages over color. There are also things that color can do that black and white can’t. However, the advantages of black and white is that you can more easily over-expose the skin which provides a flattering, porcelain look. It also allows the person to be the brightest part of the image which draws the eye. A focus on light and shade simplifies the viewing experience and you draw the eye exactly where you want to, or hide anything you want to hide.

  • That is perfectly normal and I can empathise as I feel the same way in front of the camera. I will make sure you feel super comfortable and confident, plus the use of props (fake cigars, whisky glasses, type writers etc) give you something to hold and do, which helps get you into character. Also, the use of dark and moody lighting allows you to get into the spirit as well.

  • We are located in Armstrong Creek, a suburb of Geelong, however there are options to travel (at the buyer’s expense). Feel free to get in contact to discuss options.
